The Molten Salt Thermal Conductivity Tester using the laser flash method measures the thermal diffusivity of samples by irradiating them with a laser and detecting the temperature rise on the sample's back surface with an infrared detector. It is widely used for testing metals, alloys, ceramics, polymers, liquids, films, and other materials to calculate thermal conductivity according to standards GJB 1201.1-91 and ASTMD 1461.

Introduction to DRX-II-JG Molten Salt Thermal Conductivity Tester Laser Flash Method: The instrument irradiates the sample with a laser beam and measures the temperature rise on the back surface of the sample using an infrared detector to calculate the thermal diffusivity. It features speed and convenience, can measure specific heat, and further calculate thermal conductivity. It is widely applied in testing metals, alloys, diamonds, ceramics, graphite and carbon fibers, filled plastics, polymers, liquids, films, solid electrical insulating materials, granular and powdered materials, and coal thermal conductivity, complying with GJB 1201.1-91 and ASTMD 1461 standards for solid materials, thermal conductive resins, and thermal conductive glass fibers. Our company’s DRX-II-JG series laser thermal conductivity testers are precision instruments with modular design for measuring thermal diffusivity, thermal conductivity, and specific heat. They can measure 3-6 samples simultaneously and offer interchangeable furnace bodies to cover a temperature range from -125 to 2800℃. Various sample holders are available, suitable for solids, liquids, melts, and slags. The compact design separates hardware and electronic components, and with an external cover installed, it can be adapted for nuclear applications. Measurement principle of the Molten Salt Thermal Conductivity Tester Laser Flash Method: The sample is placed inside the furnace automatic sampler and heated to a programmed temperature. At this temperature, the bottom of the sample is irradiated by an energy pulse (xenon lamp), producing a uniform temperature rise on the sample's top surface. A high-speed infrared detector measures the temperature rise on the sample surface, and the thermal diffusivity is calculated based on the temperature rise versus time data.
